Today’s San Francisco Chronicle highlights some favorite kids’ desserts (those they all seem adult-friendly to me!) and one of them is the “Mostest Cupcake” from Noe Valley Bakery.
Noe Valley Bakery’s Mostest Cupcakes (pictured at right) look just like the mini-mart best-seller, but taste much better, with a Bavarian cream center and chocolate ganache glaze with […]
Grace Chen of SFStation.com investigates San Francisco’s cupcake bakeries:
Encased behind protective glass counters like diamonds in a jewelry store, displays of cupcakes may soon become not only a girl’s new best friend, but also everyone’s new guiltiest indulgence. Like diamonds, these baked creations come in different sizes. They glisten with buttercream and Italian meringue frosting. […]
How can we not love a bakery called That Takes the Cake that says “Our cupcake’s main ingredient is happiness?”
It’s a San Francisco delivery-only bakery run by Saralynn Reece, and they just need 24 hours’ advance notice. They’ll do personalization (a customer asked them to do a cupcake-as-wedding-proposal!).
Here are their flavors and prices:
vanilla vanillavanilla buttermilk […]
In the San Francisco Bay Area, my friend Shar just opened Sharlene’s Babycakes, and from the two delicious morsels I tasted while I was visiting recently, those nearby should snap them right up. I highly recommend the Mexican hot chocolate ones. We’ll have an interview up here soon quizzing her about her recipes and other […]

Via Cupcake Fetish, I heard about the amazing-sounding Tour de Cupcake. See below or click here for details. It’s a bike race where eating cupcakes actually helps you! How cool is that?

I just discovered (thanks Jackson) San Francisco’s Cups and Cakes via the Weekly Yelp for SF (can’t find a web link), and they look awesome. Why? Mainly because you can mix and match your favorite cake and frosting flavors. Angel food cake with blackberry frosting? Dark chocolate cake with pink lemonade frosting? Go for it!

There’s a new cupcake meetup: Iron Cupcake: San Francisco
You can see all the dessert meetups and check out our Cupcake Alliance.
Interested in starting a cupcake meetup? (I personally think Seattle and Austin are very ripe for meetups with so many cupcakeries in town.) Contact Nichelle at cupcakestakethecake at yahoo.com for details!

When I posted about Iron Cupcake: San Francisco, I hadn’t fully checked out the organizer, Flickr user Kingdom Cupcake, in San Francisco. Well! You really must do yourself a favor and check out her amazing cupcakes. They are so creative, some a little crazy (like crab […]
