Cupcake Cookoff 2007

Brooklyn Record has the scoop about Wednesday’s Cupcake Cookoff organized by The Brooklyn Kitchen.

I’d say there were at least 40 or 50 people crammed inside to get a taste and a peek at some sweet little eats.
Categories included Pure and Simple, focusing on basic flavors and construction (think no-frills and deelish); Additions, giving props to any cupcake with fillings, nuts, or any other extra added awesomeness; and Decorator’s Delight, which offered chefs the chance to go crazy on the aesthetic end. There was also a democratic vote by all attendees for Best in Show.
The big winner was Sarah McLaughlin with her Mexican Hot Chocolate cupcakes.
