Little Cupcake Bakeshop Goes Green

The Little Cupcake Bake Shop which open two years ago in Bay Ridge amidst controversy is now green. Recognized as World’s First Carbon Neutral Cupcake Bakery, the bakery’s co-founder Massimo LoBuglio was interviewed in Sprig, a daily eco newsletter, about how Little Cupcake is fighting global warming.
To become carbon neutral, we first calculated our bakeshop’s carbon emissions. Then, we began implementing measures to reduce as much carbon as possible. We installed CFL lights, light dimmers, motion sensors, Energy Star appliances, and Low E window panes to reduce our energy use. The bakeshop uses reusable mugs to replace the need to give out disposable cups. The store also runs on wind power.
When asked: “Why do think cupcakes make people so happy?”, Massimo answers:
